Therapies
Trauma-Informed Therapy creates a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood.
Trauma can affect how we see ourselves, our relationships, and even our bodies. A trauma-informed approach honors your story, moves at your pace, and gently helps your nervous system find stability.
You are never pushed to share more than you want, and your strengths and resilience are always at the center of the work.
Experiential Therapy goes beyond just talking. It invites you to engage in creative, mindful, and body-based processes like art, movement, guided imagery, or role play (psychodrama) that help you connect with feelings and insights in new ways. These experiences can open new doors that words alone sometimes can’t, allowing healing to happen more deeply and authentically. This creates safety for all parts of your experience, not just the thinking mind.
As a Trauma-Informed and Experiential Therapist, I go beyond Cognitive Therapy. While Cognitive Therapies focus mainly on thoughts and beliefs, I recognize that healing often needs to reach much deeper than the mind alone. Trauma doesn’t just live in our thoughts. It also shows up in the body, in emotions, and how we relate to others.
While I do use Cognitive Therapy as part of my work (Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral among others), I also take a more holistic approach by bringing in Trauma-Informed and Experiential methods, such as EMDR, IFS, RRT, and Havening.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that gently helps the brain process and release the emotional impact of difficult or traumatic experiences. Clients do not need to talk about the specifics of the traumatic event(s) unless they want to.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) Gently helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself with compassion, so you can feel more balanced, whole, and connected to your true self.
RRT (Rapid Resolution Therapy) With guided imagery RRT clears the effects of painful experiences, helping you feel relief, clarity, and freedom without reliving the past.
Havening is a gentle, touch-based method that helps the brain release the emotional charge of trauma, by calming the nervous system and creating new pathways in the brain. Having reduces distress and fosters a lasting sense of safety and peace.
